Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang believes that criticism of Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is "a bit unfair" at times.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has described excessive criticism of Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger as "a bit unfair".

The Gunners manager has seen his last few seasons at the Emirates Stadium dotted with discontent and protests from a number of fans.

Arsenal look set to miss out on Champions League football for the second successive season, after failing to qualify for the first time during Wenger's 22-year tenure at the club last season.

When asked by Sky Sports News whether Wenger deserves the criticism, Aubameyang replied: "It's a difficult question. Sometimes I think it's a bit unfair.

"We're playing better in these last games and I hope the people can see this."

Aubameyang, who arrived in North London from Borussia Dortmund in January, has six goals in his opening seven games for Arsenal.
