Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger insists that Premier League leaders Manchester City will "have to be stopped" at some point.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has said that while it is "normal" for Manchester City to have been installed as favourites for the Premier League title, the Citizens "have to be stopped" at some point.

City have won nine and drawn one of their 10 league fixtures this season to top the table on 28 points, which has led to many claiming that Pep Guardiola's side will run away with the title this term.

Wenger, however, who will take his Arsenal team to the Etihad Stadium this weekend, has insisted that City will slip up at some point.

"That's normal because at the moment they are on a good run and people extend always these good runs to the end of the season - but at some stage they have to be stopped," Wenger told reporters.

Arsenal, who have won their last four games in all competitions, are currently fifth in the Premier League table - nine points off City after 10 games of the 2017-18 campaign.
