Arsenal injury, suspension list ahead of their first game back

Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their first match back after lockdown - a trip to face Manchester City.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta takes his side back to his former employers at the Etihad Stadium later this month when the Gunners take on Manchester City in their first game back after the coronavirus shutdown.

More than three months after they were last in action, the North Londoners visit the home of the champions looking for a fourth successive Premier League victory.

Indeed, Arsenal boast the longest current unbeaten record in the top flight and are yet to taste league defeat in 2020, although that run will not face many tests more difficult than away to Man City.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's injury and suspension news ahead of the match on June 17.

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: June 17 (vs. Man City)

Lucas Torreira had initially been expected to miss the rest of the season after fracturing his ankle in March, but the three-month stoppage means that he could be fit to return in time for this game. The Uruguayan has stepped up his recovery in training recently.

Calum Chambers

Calum Chambers will still miss the remainder of this season, even with the stoppage, after requiring surgery on a ruptured ACL in January. A tentative return date of the end of August has been pencilled in.
