Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger suggests that he wants to secure another job at a top European club once he has left the Gunners in the summer.

Arsene Wenger has suggested that he does not want to wait long before securing another position at a top European club.

Last week, Wenger announced that he would end his 22-year reign at Arsenal in May, with the Gunners failing to challenge for the Premier League title for a second successive year.

However, ahead of the club's Europa League semi-final with Atletico Madrid, Wenger has indicated that he does not want the last-four showdown to be his last experience of European competition.

The Frenchman told The Telegraph: "I hope these are not my last European cup games – my target is to play in Europe again.

"I've had no break for 35 years. You can look around, and that doesn't exist. I don't know now how addicted I am. I am like a guy who plays Russian roulette every week and suddenly has no gun. I will see how much I miss that gun.

"You live always in extreme situations. When I started at 33, I thought I would never survive in this job, but you learn to dominate your emotions. You are never sure if you do the right thing. It will be surreal when I don't work. At the moment I work."

Since his managerial bow in 1984, Wenger has taken charge of 1,696 matches.
