How Arsenal could line up against Qarabag FK

Ahead of Thursday's Europa League tie between Arsenal and Qarabag FK at the Emirates Stadium, Sports Mole looks at how the hosts could line up.

Arsenal have a chance to extend their long-running unbeaten run when they take on Qarabag FK in the Europa League on Thursday night.

The Gunners, through as Group E winners with a game to spare, take on the already-eliminated Azerbaijani champions at the Emirates Stadium.

Unai Emery is expected to heavily rotate his side for this final group-stage fixture, while at the same time fielding a side capable of preserving an unbeaten streak that now spans 21 matches.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Arsenal could line up against Qarabag.

Possible ARS XI vs. QAR

Out: Konstantinos Mavropanos (groin), Nacho Monreal (hamstring), Danny Welbeck (ankle), Rob Holding (knee)
Doubtful: Laurent Koscielny, Aaron Ramsey (ankle), Mesut Ozil (back), Shkodran Mustafi (hamstring)

Emery has a big decision to make in the heart of defence, with Koscielny in line for a first senior appearance in more than seven months following his return to action with the Under-23s last week.

This seems the ideal type of game to get the Frenchman back involved, especially with Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Mustafi being banned for the weekend trip to Southampton, with the latter also carrying a knock that renders him doubtful to face Qarabag.

Ramsey and Ozil are less likely to feature, however, as they are carrying an ankle and back injury respectively, while Monreal is not fully over a hamstring problem that kept him out for two months until the win against Huddersfield Town.

Emery will largely field an inexperienced side, though the likes of Eddie Nketiah, Emile Smith Rowe and Joe Willock have all impressed when called upon in Europe.
