How Argentina could line up against Nicaragua

Ahead of the international friendly between Argentina and Nicaragua, Sports Mole looks at how Lionel Scaloni's side could line up in San Juan.

Argentina head into their international friendly with Nicaragua looking to produce a dominant performance ahead of the start of the Copa America.

Lionel Scaloni's side have registered five wins from eight matches since September, but La Albiceleste have looked anything but consistent in those fixtures.

Argentina registered a narrow 1-0 triumph over Morocco in their most recent outing, although that followed a surprise defeat at the hands of Venezuela.

Below, Sports Mole predicts what starting lineup could be named by Scaloni as he looks to put his squad in the best frame of mind ahead of trying to win the Copa America for the first time since 1993.

Scaloni used two different starting lineups during a training session earlier this week, and it suggests that he may hand 45 minutes to each side.

Lionel Messi and Sergio Aguero featured in one team alongside Matias Suarez, with the likelihood that this setup will be given the first half of Saturday's match.

Guido Pizarro and Guido Rodriguez should win their third caps in the centre of midfield, but Giovani Lo Celso appears set to get the nod over Angel Di Maria.

Nicolas Otamendi may add experience at the back, although the Manchester City man could be the only player of the back five to have made more than 20 appearances for their country.

Franco Armani, Renzo Saravia and German Pezzella are in line to win their fifth, fourth and eighth caps respectively.
