AFC Wimbledon boss Neal Ardley says that the supporters "deserve" to be in League One following the club's playoff win over Plymouth Argyle.

AFC Wimbledon manager Neal Ardley has claimed that the supporters "deserve" to see their club gain historic promotion to League One.

The Dons will play League One football for the first time in their 14-year history next season after they sealed a 2-0 victory over Plymouth Argyle at Wembley on Monday.

"It's wonderful," Ardley told Sky Sports News. "The occasion for our fans was going to be enough in the first place, from where we've come from.

"But that second half, there was only one team going to win it - we were outstanding. The longer the game went on, the more likely we were going to win.

"[The fans] deserve it. They had their club taken away from them 14 years ago - now look at them."

Lyle Taylor and Adebayo Akinfenwa scored Wimbledon's goals.
