Three eSports you will definitely be betting on in the near future

A look at a few games that are expected to be the first ones people will be betting on in the near future, based on their popularity and tournament history.

eSports tournaments have been going on for years, yet there are many that believe that virtual gaming is not a sport at all. What they don't know is that virtual gaming also takes a lot of effort and maybe even more training than the standard sports.

We can legitimately say that it all depends on taste. Just like not everyone likes a particular sport - hockey, for example - we cannot expect everyone to like the same virtual games. Each game and tournament has its group of fans and each year we can see new games being introduced with their respective tournaments. Most of these tournaments are streamed on Twitch, so spectators can easily access them online.

You can safely assume that eSports betting is not far from now; in the same way the popularity of the eSports tournaments is growing, the interest in wagering on the top eSports players or teams is growing as well.

Let's take a look at a few games that are expected to be the first ones people will be betting on in the near future, based on their popularity and tournament history.

Call of Duty and Counter Strike: Global Offensive
These two belong in the category of First Person Shooters (FPS) games and are the easiest for spectators to follow and wager on.

You can clearly see teams of players shooting each other across a map. You can wager on which player or team will score the most or fewest kills, who wins, who loses etc. These two games have been there for ages and it's only natural to be two of the many games you'll be betting on.

DOTA 2 and League of Legends
These two, on the other hand, are in the Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) games category and are also very famous in the gaming world. Contrary to the FPS games, these are somewhat more difficult to follow. But those who have been watching the tournaments for years can easily understand what's going on on the screens.

You can put your bet on how long the match is going to last, which one of the characters gets banned or picked, how many kills might a player score etc.

Fortnite and PUBG
Belonging in the group of Battle Royale games, Fortnite and PUBG have had the most success of all virtual games. This is due to the fact that mainstream celebrities and hundreds of millions of people are watching them. The gameplay is pretty straightforward: 100 players enter the game and only one comes out as a winner.

Though, this year there are some updates to this type of games. There was a rumor that was confirmed recently that battle royale mode is going to be released. But even if it doesn't, the games can be adapted to function with teammates, with the final outcome again being the elimination of other players until only a single player becomes the winner.
