Niall Horan announces plans for a one-off virtual gig from the Royal Albert Hall in support of out-of-work crew.

One Direction's Niall Horan has announced plans to stream a live gig from the Royal Albert Hall next month.

The one-off show will see all profits go to Horan's touring crew and the #WeNeedCrew relief fund, which is helping to financially support musicians and crew members who have been put out of work by the coronavirus pandemic.

Horan, 27, was forced to cancel his 'Nice To Meet Ya' world tour this year due to COVID-19 but is hoping that the gig on November 7 can go some way to helping recompense his team.

"This is something I'm incredibly passionate about as live events are something we all love and miss," he wrote on Instagram.

"Until we are able to return I want to shine a light on the incredible crew members of our touring world that make those events possible and whose livelihoods have been severely affected by Covid-19 and the lack of financial support to self-employed Arts World members.⁣

"I'm putting on this gig to try and raise awareness of the immense value they bring to an industry enjoyed by so many, and do something to help them and their families. I ask all you guys to support them with me and buy a ticket if you can, and I encourage all artists to do the same.⁣"

Tickets for the virtual gig will cost £16 and will go on sale this Friday, October 16.
