A huge batch of PS5 consoles could become available for sale in the UK over the next week, it has been reported.
The highly-anticipated new console launched in November but availability in the UK was extremely limited in the run-up to Christmas, and as a result, re-sales of PS5s via auction sites such as eBay reached extortionate levels.
According to the respected PS5 Instant Updates account on Twitter, "plenty of PS5 drops" will be made to retailers this Thursday, January 7 and again next Tuesday, January 12 - although those dates could be postponed as a result of shipping delays at UK ports over the festive period.
The account says that BT and EE will make consoles available to their customers from 8am on Thursday if their stock arrives within the next day, while other retailers such as Asda, Amazon and GAME are likely to release stock around the same time.
The news comes as the UK braces itself for the prospect of a new full-scale national lockdown in order to help curb an alarming rise in coronavirus infections.
