Gemma Collins has revealed that her father Alan Collins has been hospitalised amid his battle with coronavirus.

Earlier this week the reality star shared the news that both of her parents had contracted the deadly disease and were "extremely unwell", and now Alan has been moved to Queen's Hospital in Romford.

In a post on Instagram, she wrote: "THANK YOU QUEENS HOSPITAL❤️ NHS ❤️ALL THE AMAZING DOCTORS ❤️ who are helping my dad right now in hospital ❤️ NHS ❤️QUEENS HOSPITAL❤️"

In a further update last night, she added: "The doctors and nurses at QUEENS HOSPITAL have been FANTASTIC ! They really are HEROS ❤️ DAD is in the best place right now THANK YOU @nhsengland and THANK YOU for all your well wishes ❤️ this is scary and real ! Do not underestimate this virus."

According to the latest government numbers, more than 21,000 people in the UK will spend Christmas Day in hospital with coronavirus and that number is expected to rise to a new high over the festive period.
