A new free video gaming app is launched for SkyQ customers.

A new app has launched on SkyQ which allows viewers to play 20 classic video games for free using their remote.

The PlayWorks app is available in the Apps menu on the on-screen guide and has classic games including Solitaire, Tetris and Darts, as well as mobile favourites Doodle Jump and Crossy Road.

The launch of the app marks the first time that a dedicated games service has been made available through the platform.

PlayWorks has already been available to customers of Sky's owners Comcast in the US for some time and also features as part of Facebook Messenger.

Other apps available via SkyQ include Spotify, YouTube, Disney+, Netflix and the Roku Channel.
