Ant and Dec reveal that they are in a household "cohort", enabling them to avoid having to social distance from each other.

Ant and Dec have revealed that their two households have joined up to form a "cohort" during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The move sees the pair get tested for coronavirus every four days and allows them to avoid having to social distance from each other in private and on screen.

The popular duo are spending this week pre-recording the semi-finals of Britain's Got Talent, the first of which will air this Saturday, and will then move on to work on the new series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

"We're in a cohort," Ant said on today's This Morning. "We're working on Britain's Got Talent and other things at the moment, so we get tested every four days."

Dec added: "We're like Premiership footballers... that's where the similarity ends.

"We get tested down the throat and up the nose. Basically our households are connected and we form a cohort."

Earlier this year the pair were forced to present the final episodes of Saturday Night Takeaway from their respective homes in the early stages of the coronavirus crisis.
