Result: England win silver in women's 3m synchro

Team England pair Alicia Blagg and Katherine Torrance win silver in the women's synchronised 3m springboard final at the Commonwealth Games, with Australia claiming gold.

Team England duo Alicia Blagg and Katherine Torrance have won silver in the women's synchronised 3m springboard at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

The English pairing produced a score of 64.80 on their third dive to put themselves into medal contention, and a back two-and-a-half somersault on their final effort was enough to clinch silver.

Malaysia's Mun Yee Leong and Nur Dhabitah Sabri had been in second place prior to their final dive, but a score of just 42.30 scuppered their chances of silver and forced them to settle for bronze.

Hosts Australia produced two final dives of 61.20 and 71.10 - the latter the best score of the entire competition - to pull clear and claim gold, having missed out on a medal with a fourth-placed finish in Glasgow four years ago.

Esther Qin and Georgia Sheehan ended with a score of 284.10 to finish top of the podium, but Canada's Jennifer Abel and Melissa Citrini-Beaulieu missed out on a medal altogether.

Citrini-Beaulieu and Abel, the latter of whom won gold in the event in Delhi eight years ago and silver in Glasgow, were given a score of just 33.48 for their fourth dive to rule themselves out of medal contention.
