Result: Great Britain secure double team pursuit gold at European Track Championships

Great Britain's cycling men and women secure gold medals in their respective team pursuit finals at the European Track Championships.

Great Britain's cycling men and women have clinched gold in their respective team pursuit finals at the European Track Championships.

Laura Trott, Joanna Rowsell Shand, Katie Archibald and Elinor Barker rode to victory over the Russian Federation in a time of 4:17.010.

Meanwhile, Team GB's male quartet of Sir Bradley Wiggins, Owain Doull, Andy Tennant and Jon Dibben sealed a memorable double by beating hosts Switzerland in a time of 3:55.243 at the Velodrome Suisse.

Britain have won team pursuit gold in every European Championships they have entered since 2010.

The points earned will help towards securing places at next summer's Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
