Shane Sutton demands answers from Sir Bradley Wiggins

Former Team Sky coach Shane Sutton requests information on Bradley Wiggins's use of asthma drugs following claims that he crossed "an ethical line".

Former Team Sky coach Shane Sutton has demanded that Tour de France winner Bradley Wiggins further explain his use of triamcinolone during his professional cycling career.

Sutton was involved with Team Sky from 2009 to 2016, including a spell as head coach, during which time he played an integral role in helping Wiggins to become the first Brit to win the Tour de France.

Sutton believes that there are many more questions to be answered concerning Wiggins's drug controversy six years ago following the publication of an MPs' report which claimed that he crossed "an ethical line".

"They need to explain it all to everybody," the Australian told Sky Sports News.

"I cannot say I know a lot about Brad's use of triamcinolone in or out of competition. I am told by the doctor he needs a TUE [therapeutic use exemption] for this event, etc, etc. Outside of the event, you have to sit down and ask them.

"I am calling for him and the doctor to come forward and tell the truth. He is a sufferer, I have seen him suffer and gasping for breath after effort, I saw what he was going through, I cannot answer how often he used it. Only the doctor and him can tell us."

Wiggins retired from professional cycling in December 2016 following an illustrious career which saw him become Britain's most decorated Olympian.
