Somerset confirm the signing of batsman Tom Cooper for the 2015 season.

Somerset have confirmed the signing of batsman Tom Cooper for the 2015 season.

Australian-born Cooper, who plays for the Netherlands at international level, boasts an impressive average of 48.80 from 23 one-day internationals and has scored 2,697 runs in first-class cricket.

"It is really good news that Tom has joined us for this season," Somerset director of cricket Matt Maynard revealed in a club statement.

"He is a highly regarded batsman with a really good track record in all forms of the game and will be a great addition to our squad."

Cooper plays for South Australia and also represents the Melbourne Renegades in the Big Bash.
