Watch this astounding run-out in the Pakistan v Australia Test match

First Test between the sides was drawn in Dubai.

Azhar Ali was run out in spectacular fashion on day three of the second Test between Pakistan and Australia in Abu Dhabi.

Azhar struck a Peter Siddle delivery towards the boundary rope and assumed the ball had gone over for four runs.

He chatted to Asad Shafiq in the middle but, while the pair were talking, the ball stopped short of the boundary, Mitchell Starc chased it down and threw it back to Tim Paine who knocked off the bails.

Azhar was out for 64, the fourth wicket to fall in Pakistan's second innings.

The International Cricket Council's own Twitter account described the dismissal as "bizarre" and comes a day after an equally strange run-out in the Australian innings on Thursday.

Marnus Labuschagne stood out of his crease with his bat raised as a Starc shot rolled down the pitch and was nudged onto his stumps by Yasir Shah.
