Reece Topley has suffered a fracture to his right hand on his county debut for Hampshire, ruling him out of the rest of the match with Warwickshire.

The 22-year-old, who moved to the side from Essex last September, sustained the injury after being hit by a bouncer from Boyd Rankin on Sunday.

"Unfortunately I got one on the back of the hand yesterday so I rushed off for an X-ray and unfortunately there's a fracture in there," Topley told Sky Sports News.

"There's at least one, there might be a few but we're not sure yet - I have to see a hand specialist later but I suppose that's one of the risks of the job of cricket."

Topley was playing in his first match since returning from India, where he was part of the England squad that progressed through to the final of the World Twenty20.
