England were bowled out for 58 as New Zealand dominated day one of the first Test between the two nations in Auckland.

England, who were in action for the first time since losing 4-0 to Australia in The Ashes, slumped to 27-9 before being dismissed in 20.4 overs to help New Zealand to a lead of 175-3.

Trent Boult and Tim Southee were both in impressive form for New Zealand, with the former posting 6-32 while the latter managed 4-25 as five batsmen made ducks at Eden Park in Auckland.

England, whose lowest ever Test score is 45, saw Stuart Broad dismiss Tom Latham early in the session, but the visitors struggled with the bat during a disappointing performance.

England have become only the fifth side in history to be bowled out in the first session of a Test match.
