England all-rounder Ben Stokes will reportedly be docked £100,000 for joining the Indian Premier League.

England all-rounder Ben Stokes will be docked around £100,000 when he moves to the Indian Premier League next month.

The 25-year-old has a base price of £238,000 in the IPL auction, which takes place in Bangalore on Saturday, and could be the subject of a bidding war involving multiple franchises.

According to The Telegraph, Stokes will receive "little financial return" should he only go for the base price, with much of his money going on agents' fees, tax and the ECB.

Every England player participating in the IPL will lose £3,500 per day from their central contract, with the proceeds being shared among the county clubs who will be missing their star players.

Other players in the auction include Eoin Morgan, Jos Buttler and Jason Roy.
