Day two of the second Test between Bangladesh and South Africa in Dhaka is abandoned due to heavy rain.

Day two of the second Test between Bangladesh and South Africa in Dhaka has been abandoned due to rain.

Dark clouds and heavy showers descended onto the pitch at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in the early hours of the morning.

Play was due to resume at 9.30am local time (3.30am UK time), but the conditions forced umpires to initially delay the start before calling it off altogether.

Bangladesh ended day one on 246-8, with the hosts losing five wickets in the evening session.

The first Test in Chittagong ended in a draw due to rain.
