Surrey bolster their squad by signing Aaron Finch, who will act as cover for Kumar Sangakkara when he plays in the Caribbean later this year.

Surrey have secured the services of Australia international Aaron Finch.

The 29-year-old, who has previously turned out for County Championship champions Yorkshire, will act as cover for Kumar Sangakkara during his planned stint in the Caribbean Premier League.

The Sri Lankan may be away for six weeks, with Finch available for all three formats of the game.

"Securing a player of Aaron's quality for such a busy period of red and white ball cricket is excellent news for the club," director of cricket Alec Stewart told the club's official website.

"I'm confident we will see his qualities in all formats of the game."

Finch is expected to make his Surrey debut in a four-day game against Warwickshire on July 2.
