The British Boxing Board of Control has announced that Tyson Fury's boxing licence has been suspended pending further investigation into anti-doping and medical issues.
The 28-year-old has vacated his WBA and WBO world heavyweight titles in order to focus on recovery.
The Manchester-born fighter reportedly tested positive for cocaine recently and he admitted in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine that he takes the drug in order to cope with depression.
Fury was obligated to fight Wladimir Klitschko in a rematch after the Brit become heavyweight world champion last November, but he has pulled out of the bout twice, with his camp claiming that the most recent withdrawal was down to the fighter being "medically unfit".
Today, the BBBofC released a statement, which read: "The British Boxing Board of Control confirms that Mr Fury's boxer's licence is suspended pending further investigation into anti-doping and medical issues."
Fury was scheduled to face Klitschko on October 29 in Manchester, but now that the belts are up for grabs, Anthony Joshua is expected to push for a bout against the Ukrainian.
