Amir Khan has said that he would treat a potential showdown with rival Kell Brook as a "tune-up fight".
A clash between the two welterweight fighters has been anticipated for some time but their respective teams have never been able to agree terms for what would be considered a super-fight in Great Britain.
However, while Khan has acknowledged that discussions are taking place, he has indicated that he is looking past Brook - the current IBF champion.
The 30-year-old told Badlefthook.com: "That fight between me and him can happen, I mean I do consider it.
"I don't mind having that as a tune-up fight - the Kell Brook fight - before I go into big fights, so we [are] in talks, I've left it to my team. I have a great team in the UK now."
Khan and Brook both suffered stoppage defeats in their last outings, with Khan being knocked out by Saul Alvarez and Brook losing to Gennady Golovkin after his corner threw in the towel.
