The United States have won their sixth successive Olympic women's basketball title thanks to a 101-72 victory over Spain at Rio's Carioca Arena.
Diana Taurasi and Lindsay Whalen scored 17 points apiece for USA, whose Olympic winning streak of 49 dates back to the bronze-medal match at Barcelona 1992.
The world's third-ranked team put up a fight at the start and trailed 21-17 after the opening period, but ultimately their opponents' class showed despite Alba Torrens scoring a game-high 18 points,
Spain's silver was their first Olympic medal of any colour in women's basketball.
