Result: Ireland lose out to Slovenia in 3x3 basketball opener

Ireland lose their first 3x3 basketball match 14-10 to Slovenia at the European Games.

Ireland have lost their opening match of the 3x3 basketball competition at the European Games.

They made a poor start to the match and were 4-10 down with four minutes remaining.

Niamh Dwyer led them back into the match with two two-point shots to bring the scores to 10-11, but Slovenia added three points in the final 30 seconds to claim a 14-10 victory.

Ireland will play Spain and Slovakia on Wednesday.
