Sir Bruce Forsyth has claimed a spot in the historic Olympic torch relay by carrying the Olympic flame through the BBC's headquarters at White City.

The 84-year-old Strictly Come Dancing presenter was greeted by a hoard of spectators when he was passed the torch in London today.

Forsyth expressed his gratitude to the support by striking his trademark pose and waving to the public as he walked and tap-danced his way down the route.

The TV personality has joined a long list of torchbearers, which today included comedian David Walliams and former England rugby head coach Sir Clive Woodward.

The torch is expected to reach Hyde Park at around 7pm this evening, which will be followed by a mini concert for spectators.
