Wisconsin Badgers running back Melvin Gordon insists that he is just as talented as Todd Gurley as the two backs prepare to enter the NFL Draft.

NFL Draft prospect Melvin Gordon is adamant that Todd Gurley is not the only "special" running back entering the selection process.

Gurley has been touted as a potential first-round pick due to his performances for the Georgia Bulldogs in his college career, despite tearing his ACL last season.

However, Gordon has insisted that he is just as talented as Gurley after his hugely impressive 2014 campaign for the Wisconsin Badgers.

"He's considered the special back and the rest of the class, especially me, we're just another group of guys," Gordon told reporters. "I don't find that fair because I feel like I'm a special back. I feel like I can do it all. I'm a playmaker.

"I can run the ball up the middle. I can run it outside. I can run the ball from the gun. I can do it all. I can catch the ball and make some plays; I've done it.

"I think guys just automatically assume because I'm not 230 and I'm not straight bulldozing guys over that I'm not a strong runner, which is false. I'm a special back, and I know I am."

Gordon recorded 2,587 rushing yards and 29 touchdowns for the Badgers in the 2014 season.
