Result: New York Jets back on track by beating Jacksonville Jaguars

The New York Jets beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 28-23 in their NFL clash at MetLife Stadium to end a run of back-to-back defeats.

The New York Jets bounced back from two defeats on the spin in the NFL to beat the Jacksonville Jaguars to claim their fifth win of the season in their clash at MetLife Stadium.

The Jaguars went ahead through the boot of Jason Myers on their first possession, but the Jets came roaring back into the match and took the lead when Ryan Fitzpatrick drilled the ball to the uncovered Eric Decker in the endzone.

New York extended their advantage when Fitzpatrick completed a series of throws to guide his team to the goalline where he handed the ball off to Chris Ivory, who ran over the left side of the line for the score.

The visitors responded just before the break when Allen Hurns raided in behind the coverage of Buster Skrine to collect a deep pass from Blake Bortles to notch a touchdown, bringing his side within four points.

After the break, Jacksonville moved closer to the Jets when Myers kicked his 39-yard field goal through the posts to reduce the deficit to one point.

New York found their rhythm once again on offense as Fitzpatrick clicked into gear with his receivers and they drove to the goalline, where Ivory took the handoff and powered into the endzone for the touchdown.

Jacksonville edged back into the match as Myers kicked his third field goal of the game, but Bortles spurned a touchdown opportunity when he was stripped of the ball in the redzone by Calvin Pace.

The Jets took a two-score lead when Fitzpatrick lofted the ball to the back of the endzone and Brandon Marshall beat out his marker to make a diving catch.

Bortles gave his team life in for the final two minutes when he fired a deep strike to Bryan Walters for a 20-yard touchdown.

However, their comeback attempt was ended when the quarterback was intercepted by Marcus Williams in the final minute to end the contest.
