Denver Broncos tight end Jeff Heuerman tears ACL

Denver Broncos tight end Jeff Heuerman tears his ACL during his side's rookie minicamp and as a result is ruled out of the 2015 season.

Denver Broncos tight end Jeff Heuerman has been ruled out for the 2015 season after tearing his ACL.

The AFC West side selected the 22-year-old in the third round of the 2015 Draft, but will now be without him for his debut season after he sustained the injury during his side's rookie minicamp.

"I feel terrible for Jeff and this is an unfortunate situation," head coach Gary Kubiak told reporters.

"Jeff was going to be a big part of our team this year, and he's still going to be a big part of our team and organisation in the future.

"He'll get well and be with us as part of this team throughout his rehabilitation."

Heuerman is the second drafted player to be ruled out of the 2015 season as Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Dante Fowler suffered the same fate as the tight end.
